Detailed Bio:

Pam Hale Trachta, founder of Through A Different Lens, offers ancient practices and contemporary creative tools for healing and transformation. Educated at Stanford and Columbia Universities, Pam has created a unique body of work woven together from her varied experiences as a teacher, life coach and spiritual counselor, photographer, fundraiser, consultant to non-profits, and shamanic practitioner. Her original products and processes help people shift the way they see, so they can become artists of their own lives. Pam offers workshops, retreats, private and organizational consultations, shamanic coaching circles and leadership seminars for women. She is the creator of the Sand Spirit Insight Cards and workbook, author of numerous articles on personal growth, and is a popular speaker.,

A native Californian, she graduated from Stanford and Columbia Universities and began her career teaching elementary school in ghetto areas of Manhattan. After marrying and moving back to southern California, Pam raised two daughters while volunteering as a paraprofessional crisis intervention counselor and studying photography. She founded Images, an educational photography studio where she developed curricula for public and private schools and colleges. A pioneer in the PhotoTherapy movement, Pam presented at conferences, wrote for educational publications, taught a wide range of students and exhibited her photography.

In the 80ís Pamís divorce propelled her into a new career as a professional fundraiser, first for an arts education non-profit, and then for Stanford University. In 1989 she married Jon Trachta, a Tucson lawyer and mediator, and moved to Arizona, where she became Director of Development for the Sarver Heart Center at the University of Arizona. In 1994 Pam formed her own consulting company and broadened her work with non-profits to leadership and organizational development.

During this period Pam developed her own materials and continued her educationĖ learning Spanish, taking a yearís course in spirituality and leadership, training as a mediator and taking a two-year training as an interfaith spiritual director. In 1999 she earned her private pilotís license, an experience that served as the basis for the Flying Lessons materials she teaches today.

In 2000 Pam discovered the images on the beach that became the Sand Spirit Insight Cards and went through treatment for breast cancer. Initially for her own healing, she took a two-year training in shamanic energy healing with The Four Winds Society, studying with shamans in Peru and later adding studies in other indigenous traditions. In 2002 she published the Sand Spirits, following with a workbook in 2006. In the meantime she had published many articles on personal and organizational development and the spiritual journey.

Pam shifted the focus of her practice to combine ancient and contemporary tools for healing and transformation. She offered classes and private consultations at Miraval Resort and Spa in Tucson for seven years, and traveled to give workshops and presentations throughout the West.

Today Pam offers monthly shamanic coaching circles, private sessions and leadership seminars for women in Tucson, and workshops and retreats in various locations including the Rocking X Ranch she owns with her husband Jon. She enjoys good health, two precious adult daughters and five grandchildren, and her continuing enthusiasm for life as a magnificent creation, full of expanding possibilities.
